history

The church in Daglfing is first mentioned in a deed of donation from the year 845 as a basilica in hon. quattuor Coronatorum domini ad Tagolfingas mentioned. It was a branch church of the original parish of Föhring. The original dedication to the four crowned saints , four martyrs of the Diocletian persecution of Christians , was later transferred to the apostles Philip and James ; the new dedication is first mentioned in 1424.

In 1724 the church was replaced by a new baroque building. In 1939 the nave was enlarged and the organ loft was rebuilt. A complete restoration took place in 1989.

description

The church is a single-nave building without a transept. Baroque altars stand on both sides of the triumphal arch and in the apse of the choir . In the side altars there are figures of St. Martin von Tours (left) and Pope Saint Silvester I , in the main altar there is a painting of the apostles Philip and James from the second half of the 19th century.

The church is surrounded by a walled cemetery, which was significantly expanded to the west in the 20th century.

The church is currently not open to the public due to the acute risk of the church roof collapsing.
