history
In 1926 a wooden emergency church was erected in Hartmannshofen for the first time and blessed by Mathias Dunstmair on October 17th . Even this building became the patron of the Archangel Raphael . In the following year, a church building association and a church foundation were established. The first curate , Josef Schmid, was appointed in 1929 for the St. Raphael Curate , which was formed in 1928 from parts of the parishes of Moosach , Obermenzing and the Untermenzing branch . Hans Döllgast won the architecture competition in 1931, the church was built in 1932 and consecrated on October 22nd by Cardinal Michael von Faulhaber . Three years later, St. Raphael became a parish curate, that is, an independent pastoral care district; from March 1, 1945 a city parish was established. After originally only one roof turret was planned, the large church tower was built in 1959/60 and equipped with five bells.
Since 2005 the parish of St. Raphael has formed a parish association together with the parish of Maria Trost .
