St. Rochus (Egg an der Günz)
The Roman Catholic St. Rochus Chapel is located in Egg an der Günz in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The chapel is a listed building .
Building description and history
The core of the chapel dates from the 16th or 17th century. In 1738 the chapel was renewed and expanded. The chapel is a single-nave building with three axes and a semicircular end. The outside of the chapel is structured with pilaster strips . The chapel has a roof turret from the 19th century and is covered with a tent roof.
Interior
Most of the equipment in the chapel is modern. There are several wooden figures in the chapel. These are a standing Madonna from the late 15th century, from the workshop of Ivo Strigel, as well as a Christ in prison and the figure of St. Rochus both from the second quarter of the 18th century.
