The Protestant village church St. Udalricus in the Hochdorf district of the city of Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia is located in an enclosed church in the southwestern part of the village.

history

In 1307 the Counts of Gleichen-Blankenhain donated the patronage of the Hochdorf Church to the Erfurt Ursulines .

The narrow windows on the church tower indicate a choir tower around 1300. The nave was added to the tower in 1740. A fire in 1801 forced the church to be rebuilt .

In 1805 the Schulze company from Milbitz near Paulinzella built the organ that has been preserved to this day .

Trivia

In 1867 the Thuringian bee professor August Ludwig was born in the church parsonage.
