The village church of St. Wendelin is in the Tünschütz district of the town of Eisenberg in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Eisenberg Saasa in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The village church is centrally located in the village in the Wethauaue north of Petersberg .

history

In 1529 there was a branch church belonging to Petersberg in Tünschütz . Maybe there was also a connection to the monastery . From this time a chapel is known, which was replaced in 1729 by today's St. Wendelin Church. Wendelin is the patron saint of shepherds.

In 1891 the roof turret on the east gable of the house was replaced.

In 1908 three choir windows were donated, showing Moses , Paulus and Christ in the middle.

The company Poppe from Schleiz supplied the organ , which is now only playable to a limited extent.
