St. Wolfgang (Kümmersbruck)
The Roman Catholic Church of St. Wolfgang is a concrete extension of the parish church of St. Antonius (Kümmersbruck) and at the same time the parish center of the parish of Kümmersbruck. The patronage of St. Wolfgang is celebrated on October 31st.
history
At the beginning of the 1970s, because the existing Antonius Church with 250 seats was no longer sufficient for a regular liturgical life in the parish, the parish of Kümmersbruck planned a new church. This adjoins the old church and includes a parish center with rooms for pastoral care outside the church in the basement. On October 15, 1974, the church administration and the parish council decided to build it. The plans were made by architect Franz Xaver Gärtner from Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz . The foundation stone was laid on August 15, 1976. On July 2, 1977, the new building, including the organ and bells, was consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Karl Flügel .
Interior
In the semicircular interior of the new building, the large, colored glass windows and the ornamental fittings on the walls are remarkable.
organ
The organ was made by the organ building company Georg Jann from Regensburg . It has 16 registers , divided into two manuals and a pedal . A third manual is designed as a coupling manual for the other two. It has slide chests and a purely mechanical register and tone action.
