The St Helen's Rugby and Cricket Ground is a rugby - and cricket - Stadium in suburban Brynmill the Welsh city of Swansea , which is now mainly used for rugby union matches is used. Until 1954, St Helen's was the home of the Welsh national team . One-Day Internationals in cricket were held here between 1973 and 1983 .

Before the renovation in 2005, the stadium had 10,500 seats, now there are only 4,500. St Helen's has the highest floodlights in Europe. It was the site of historic victories for the local Swansea RFC rugby club . In 1935, the club succeeded in beating the New Zealand national team 11: 3 as the first club ever. In 1992 Swansea beat then world champions Australia 21: 6. In addition to the Swansea RFC, the Glamorgan County Cricket Club also plays some of its home games at St Helen's.
