history
A church was built on the site in 1724. After a devastating fire in 1857, the current church building was built the following year based on a design by the architect John Henderson . In 1878 and 1926 the building was expanded and in 1937 the entrance area was redesigned. Harold Ogle Tarbolton was entrusted with the latter work . From a merger of the parish with the parish of St Mary's Church, today's St Mary's and St Peter's Episcopal Church emerged.
