The Sun Yat-sen National University (NSYSU; Chinese  國立 中山大學 , Pinyin Guólì Zhōngshān Dàxué , short ZhōngshānDà ) is a state university in Kaohsiung in the Republic of China (Taiwan) .

It was founded in 1980; the university regards itself as the successor to the Sun Yat-sen University in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, founded in 1924 by the revolutionary leader and President of the Republic of China Sun Yat-sen . The university is divided into six colleges, has a good 9,000 students and a research station on the Dongsha Islands .

campus

The university is located in Gushan District, north of the entrance to Kaohsiung Port and a military base. Its campus is surrounded on all sides by the sea and hills, and borders Xiziwan Beach , which makes it a natural fortress.
