The Landshut State Archive is the Bavarian State Archive responsible for the Lower Bavaria administrative region . The archive has been housed in Trausnitz Castle since 1809 , before moving into a new building in the north of the city (corner of Schlachthofstrasse and Stethaimerstrasse) in 2016. The historical rooms of Trausnitz Castle had become too small, mainly due to the extensive government taxes of the 20th century.
