The Stade Didier Deschamps is a football stadium in Bayonne , Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , France . The Aviron Bayonnais FC club has its sporting home here.

It was opened in the summer of 2000 by its new namesake Didier Deschamps . It was previously called the Stade du Grand Basque . Born in Bayonne, the 1998 world champion and European champion in 2000 began his career at Aviron before joining FC Nantes at the age of 14 .

The stadium has a covered main grandstand and a total of 3500 seats (1800 seats). Other teams that play in this stadium are the Aviron second team and the Croisés St-André Bayonne football club .
