The Stade du Thillenberg is a football stadium in Differdange in the canton of Esch an der Alzette in south-west Luxembourg . The stadium is located at the western end of the city right on the edge of the forest.
From 2003 to 2012 it was the home stadium of FC Differdingen 03 before the club moved to the newly built Stade Municipal de la Ville de Differdange in the southern district of Oberkorn . Until 2003, the Red Boys Differdingen , the larger of the two predecessor clubs of FC Differdingen 03, played their home games here.
The capacity of the stadium is given as 6300 or 7150 places, depending on the source. From 1928, 8,000 spectators have been handed down to an international match. There is a small roofed grandstand on the north side of the stadium. There are 17 uncovered standing steps on the slope on the opposite south side.
The construction of the Stade du Thillenberg began in 1921, and the provisionally completed square was inaugurated on May 24, 1922. Initially, the playing field was 93 meters long and 58 meters wide; in 1923 and 1924 it was expanded to 108 meters long and 70 meters wide. The final completion of the course took place in 1925, and the first international matches took place here from 1926.
