The Villingen-Schwenningen City Library is the municipal library of the City of Villingen-Schwenningen .

library

It was created in 1972 through the merger of the once independent cities of Villingen in the Black Forest and Schwenningen am Neckar , which also combined the two city libraries. This explains the double structures that still exist today, which are primarily reflected in the existence of two locations. The main office is in Schwenningen and operates as the city library on Muslenplatz . The district supplement library of the Schwarzwald-Baar district is also integrated here. In Villingen there is a branch of the city library on Münsterplatz opposite the Villinger Münster .

The library users can use interlibrary loan to access media available in other libraries of the Southwest German Library Network. For people with limited mobility, there is the “Books on Wheels” offer, which delivers all kinds of media to your home.

The library as an event location

The Karl-Haag-Saal is named after the Schwenningen dialect researcher Karl Haag , an event hall in the Schwenningen main office. Cultural events, especially exhibitions, take place here. In 1984, for example, works by Eberhard Stroot were exhibited, and in 1989 by Felix Schlenker .
