The three city guns of Freetown ( English Old city boundary guns ) are a national monument of the African state of Sierra Leone . You are on the former city limits of the capital Freetown .
The cannons were excavated and renovated by the Monument Commission in 1953 and recognized as a national monument in the same year. One of the cannons was mounted vertically on a base for better visibility .

The oldest of the three cannons is located at the intersection of Kissy, Russ and Blackhall Streets ( 8 ° 29 ′ 0 ″ N , 13 ° 12 ′ 46.1 ″ W ). It was erected in 1800 and formed the eastern border of Freetown around 1801. The Kissy cannon is the only cannon still visible today. This part of the city owes the name "Up Gun" to her.
The second cannon is on the corner of Leicester and Mountain Streets . It marked the first mile from Freetown.
The third cannon, which is also not visible, is on the corner of Pademba and Jomo Kenyatta Streets ( 8 ° 28 ′ 22.9 ″ N , 13 ° 14 ′ 12.1 ″ W ).
