The city ​​mirror is an advertising paper that is published in various regions of North Rhine-Westphalia on Wednesdays and sometimes also on weekends by the WVW / ORA advertising papers group. With a total circulation of almost 1.29 million copies per week, the Stadtspiegel titles are among the most successful newspapers of the WVW and ORA.

history

When the West German publishing and advertising community and the Ostruhr advertising company were founded as subsidiaries of the WAZ media group , the first city mirror titles were already available in the Recklinghausen district . Editorial offices in Iserlohn and Hattingen were added at the end of the 1970s, and parts of the Unna , Dorsten , Gladbeck and Bochum districts joined the distribution area in the early 1980s . As the latest local edition, editors started in August 1989 in Haltern am See .

Most editions were first published on Thursday, but today the Stadtspiegel is mostly published on Wednesdays and in some regions also on weekends. The color scheme has also changed over time. While the city mirror appeared with a green logo until the 1980s, today blue and red are the typical colors.
