Staffan Eklund

Lars Olof Staffan Eklund (born May 28, 1961 in Burträsk , Sweden ) is a Swedish biathlon trainer .

Career

Staffan Eklund had been the team leader of the Swedish national biathlon team since 2000. During this time, some of the greatest successes in the Swedish biathlon sport fell, including title wins at Biathlon World Championships and Winter Olympics .

As a personal trainer, he looked after athletes such as Jakob Börjesson and Carl Johan Bergman . In 2010 he was elected Swedish Coach of the Year and prevailed against competitors such as Sarah Sjöström or Jörgen Lennartsson and Tommy Söderberg .

After the 2014 Winter Olympics , Eklund ended his coaching career for the national team and took up a job in his home town of Boden in the Boden Arena .
