Stanley Roy "Stan" Crossett (born April 18, 1900 in Tillsonburg , Ontario , † June 26, 1992 in Port Hope , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey player who during his playing career between 1929 and 1931, among other things, 21 games for the Philadelphia Quakers has played in the National Hockey League on the position of defender .

Career

Crossett, who was one of the more powerful ice hockey players of the time with a height of 183 centimeters and a weight of 91 kilograms, first appeared in 1929. He played in the Ontario Hockey Association for the Port Hope Eagles. On January 9, 1931, the defender was hired by the Philadelphia Quakers from the National Hockey League , who were looking for reinforcements due to a disastrous season. Crossett played in 21 games for the team, but could hardly get involved offensively and did not score a scorer point . He collected ten penalty minutes during this period .

Since the Quakers stopped playing after the 1930/31 season , Crossett returned to Port Hope, married and successfully ran a taxi company , hotel and swimming pool . He also served as a sergeant in World War II . He died on June 26, 1992 at the age of 92.
