The standard 9.5 was a small car, which the Standard Motor Company in Coventry 1914-1915 and 1919 built.

After the 20 hp was discontinued , the new small 9.5 was the only model of the brand still available in 1914. The small touring car had a side-controlled four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 1087 cm³ (bore × stroke = 62 mm × 90 mm). In 1915 the production of this vehicle had to be stopped due to the war.

After the war, the 9.5 was reissued in 1919, but with a larger engine. The stroke had been extended to 110 mm, which resulted in a displacement of 1328 cm³. The associated vehicle had also grown slightly in all dimensions.

In the following year, Standard offered the new overhead engines, which meant that the 9.5 was no longer available.
