The Standard Fifteen was an automobile by the Standard Motor Company in Coventry in 1907, 1912 and 1929 built up the 1,931th

The name first appeared in 1907 and referred to the small touring car 15 hp, which had a side-controlled six-cylinder engine. In 1912 the 15 hp had a large four-cylinder engine and thus inherited the 16 hp built in the previous years . The name appeared for the third time in 1929. This time a medium-sized six-cylinder engine drove the sedans, which were built in parallel to the almost equally large 16 hp until 1931 .

In 1912 there was a 15 hp with a completely different design. It was a slightly smaller version of the 16 hp produced between 1909 and 1911 and had a long-stroke four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 2,368 cm³ (bore × stroke = 80 mm × 120 mm). This made the 15 hp again the smallest of the manufacturer's three models this year. The two six-cylinder models were called 20 hp and 25 hp .

In the following year, the medium-sized four-cylinder disappeared without replacement.

In 1929 a 15 hp six-cylinder engine appeared again . The long-stroke unit had a bore of 63.5 mm and a stroke of 101.6 mm, which resulted in a displacement of 1,930 cm³. This motor has made 37 hp (27 kW) at 3000 min -1 and accelerated the classic sedan to 93 km / h.

In 1930 this model ran out and was replaced by the 15 hp long . This car was significantly longer and wider and also had a 7 "(178 mm) wheelbase. The cylinder bores had been enlarged to 65.5 mm, which gave the engine a displacement of 2,054 cm³. The power increased to 41 hp (30 kW) with continued 3.000 min -1 . The top speed was 96.5 km / h.

The slightly smaller 16 hp , which was built in parallel, was equipped with the same engine . The 15 hp was discontinued in 1932.
