The Standard Forty or Standard 40 hp was a six-cylinder passenger car that the Standard Motor Company in Coventry built from 1908 to 1911 as the successor to the 30 hp model .

This car was the larger of two standard six-cylinder models during the construction period. The car was designed conventionally and had an in-line six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 6107 cc. The touring car was available with chassis in two different wheelbases - 3048 mm and 3353 mm - and had rear-wheel drive. The smaller six-cylinder model was called 20 hp .

In 1911 the large six-cylinder ran out without a successor.
