The Gubałówka funicular is a funicular in the center of Zakopane , which leads to Gubałówka Mountain, north of the city center, in the Pogórze Spisko-Gubałowskie mountain range . It is managed by the Polskie Koleje Linowe company.

Upper station

history

The Gubałówka funicular railway was built in the summer and autumn of 1938 in just 168 days by the Liga Popierania Turystyki (LPT). It was modernized in 2001. Since then, glazed wagons have been running, from which the Tatra panorama can be admired.

location

The lower station of the Gubałówka funicular is located in the center of Zakopane. The main shopping street Krupówki and the listed cemetery Cmentarz Zasłużonych na Pęksowym Brzyzku are in the immediate vicinity . The upper station is on the top of the mountain.
