The Stanford nunatak is a nunatak in Marie Byrd Land, West Antarctica . In the Ford Ranges it rises 5.5 km northeast of Mount Morgan in the eastern part of the Gutenko-Nunatakker .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1972 after Thomas H. Stanford of the University of Washington , ionospheric physicist on the Byrd Station in 1970.
