Stanislav Andreski

Stanisław Andrzejewski (born May 8, 1919 in Częstochowa , † September 26, 2007 in Reading ) was a Polish sociologist .

Andrzejewski was arrested during the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1939 ; he managed to escape to England, where he fought as a soldier on the British-Soviet side.

In the German-speaking countries he is through his book "Die Hexenmeister der Sozialwissenschaften. Abuse, fashion and manipulation of a science ”became known by critically examining the social sciences . In particular, he attributes a concealment function to the use of sociological technical jargon: "Bluff galore and a terrifying poverty of new ideas."

Andrzejewski taught sociology in Chile and Nigeria and was then professor at the University of Reading from 1964 to 1984 .
