Stanley Lane-Poole

Stanley Lane-Poole (born December 18, 1854 in London , England , † December 29, 1931 ) was a British orientalist and Egyptologist .

Stanley Lane-Poole was a nephew of the Orientalist Edward William Lane . From 1874 to 1892 he worked in the British Museum and then in Egypt. From 1897 to 1904 he was Professor of Arabic Studies at Dublin University .

His main work its true history of Egypt in the Middle Ages ( History of Egypt in the Middle Ages , 1901), which has been widely reprinted and in the history of Egypt ( A History of Egypt ) by William Matthew Flinders Petrie is included.
