Star satellite radio

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Star * Sat Radio was a German satellite radio that was founded in 1987 in Munich by Jo Lüders and Peter Pelunka. Then there were "hits from 40 years of pop history" from 1988 also on the FM frequency of "89 Munich", 89.0 MHz. Before that, the Munich cable network had already broadcast.

Star * Sat Radio was the first German satellite radio to go on air via ECS1, Kopernikus and Astra .

Star * Sat Radio ran without moderation and was therefore chosen as a background music program by many pubs, cinemas, etc. in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Sat.1 used Star * Sat Radio as an accompanying sound to its test image in the program-free time. Star * Sat Radio could be heard as a supporting program at other private VHF stations in various parts of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, as well as in South Tyrol up to Lake Garda. Also in Germany via the cable network and via other cable networks and radio stations in Europe.

Star * Sat Radio was also broadcast on DSR digital satellite radio . They broadcast a daily, half-hour Rhineland-Palatinate magazine that was produced in a studio in Ludwigshafen.

From 1993 the program was produced in Dauner Studios. The mother was the Technisat company in Daun. In the mid-1990s, Star * Sat Radio also had some support frequencies in Rhineland-Palatinate . After 2000, the attempt by the owner Technisat to establish Star * Sat Radio and other offshoots as pay radio in Germany failed. With the advent of web radios, interest also fell, so that Star * Sat Radio was discontinued in 2008.

Since 2014 a new Star * Sat radio of the dunk media group has been broadcasting “the hits of the 80s and the best music of today” in Berlin via DAB + as well as internet radio .
