Star Trek: Of Gods and Men is a three-part Star Trek - Fan fiction play series, in which many performers of all Star Trek films and series. Your producers describe it as a gift from the actors for the 40th Star Trek anniversary to the fans. Directed by Tim Russ , who previously played in the official series Star Trek: Raumschiff Voyager and also directed several episodes. The mini-series is not part of the official Star Trek franchise , but is tolerated by the rights holders (see also: Legal position on Star Trek fanfiction ) .

Filming began on July 12, 2006 and ended in October 2006. The filming took place in the sets of the series Star Trek: New Voyages in Port Henry, New York , as well as in the natural park Vasquez Rocks , where numerous field shots for Star Trek took place before .

The book is by DS9 authors Jack Trevino and Ethan H. Calk. Douglas Knapp, who also worked for Voyager , is a cameraman.

Since 2006 the release of the series has been postponed again and again. Paramount was also involved in negotiations with the Star Trek: Of Gods And Men team in 2006 as there was no professional project at the time. Finally, part 1 was published on December 22, 2007 for free viewing on the project's homepage. Part 2 followed in March 2008 and part 3 has been available on the official website since June 15, 2008.

In May 2007, Tim Russ announced that the producers were also trying to release the film as a download or on DVD through the official Star Trek franchise. The negotiations with the rights holder CBS have not yet come to a conclusion.
