Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron is a video game released in 2009 and an offshoot of the Battlefront series. It was developed by Rebellion Developments and published by LucasArts for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS . The DS version was developed by N-Space .

In the game, the player takes on the role of a front soldier in one of the four central factions of the Star Wars films and takes part in various battles. The Elite Squadron campaign is about two clone troops hunting down surviving Jedi in the newly formed Empire.

Gameplay

General

Battlefront: Elite Squadron is based on the same concept of the earlier series parts. It is a shooter in which the player takes on the role of a soldier in the Star Wars universe and serves in one of the armies of the four central factions of the Star Wars films. In this role, the player fights on various worlds that are based on locations from the Star Wars galaxy.

An innovation compared to previous Battlefront parts is that you can now switch between ground and space combat within a single battle. For example, it is possible to start a battle in space and land on a planet with a star fighter during the fight and continue the battle on the ground there.

Another new feature is the ion cannon . It can be conquered in any battle on the planet. Once a team has captured the ion cannon, you can use it to shoot at the enemy command ship in space and deactivate its shields.

Game modes

In addition to the campaign missions, various game modes are available for the individual maps. These modes are similar to those of other popular shooters, e.g. B. Battlefield .

The conquest is about two teams competing against each other in a certain area and trying to capture all strategic points. Troops from the side to which the point belongs can be flown in at these points. A second possibility of victory is the smashing of the opposing army.

In the "capture the flag" mode, one or two flags are hidden on the map at the beginning of a game. The participating armies try to find this flag and bring it to their base, which is rewarded with points. The side that has reached a certain number of points first wins the game.

The attack mode plays on space maps. The fighting factions try to score points by destroying the enemy fleet.
