n-Space was a US development studio for computer games , which was founded in 1994 by Erick S. Dyke, Dan O'Leary and Sean Purcell. n-Space has developed for many different platforms in its history, but since 2001 the focus has mostly been on Nintendo consoles, especially handheld consoles .
history
Founders Erick S. Dyke, Dan O'Leary, and Sean Purcell worked together on a project called General Electric Aerospace ( GE Aerospace for short , now part of Lockheed Martin ) to program advanced simulation games . In 1991, 3D technology was incorporated into the project to increase commercial profit. Dyke, O'Leary, and Purcell spent two months working with Sega building an arcade system called the SEGA Model 2 . In 1994, Dyke, O'Leary, and Purcell founded n-Space, with financial support from Sony Computer Entertainment , to develop games for the newly launched PlayStation game console . In 1997 the company launched Tiger Shark , which was their first game for the PlayStation. The game Geist , published in 2005, was developed in cooperation with Nintendo.
In 2011 n-Space announced its largest project, which was developed exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS . The game called Heroes of Ruin was developed in cooperation with Square Enix and was released in June 2012. In 2015, the studio released its first independent game in cooperation with Digital Extremes, called Sword Coast Legends , an RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe . At the end of March 2016, the closure of the studio became known.
