The Starbuck Crater is a small and icy volcanic crater in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It projects the at the base of the western slope Mount Bursey - massif in the Flood Range on.
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 after James E. Starbuck of the Bartol Research Foundation of the Franklin Institute , the 1970 on the Amundsen-Scott South Pole station , the cosmic radiation had been studied.
