Starlux Airlines ( Chinese  星宇 航空 , Pinyin Xīng yǔ hángkōng ) is a Taiwanese airline based in Taipei and based at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport .

history

The founding of Starlux Airlines was announced in November 2016. In April 2017, the airline was registered with the Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs. The airline's founder, Kuo-wei Chang, was Chairman of Eva Air until 2016 .

In 2019 were at Airbus 17 aircraft of the type Airbus A350 ordered. In addition, three Airbus A321neo were taken over by January 2020 , with which flight operations began on January 24, 2020. Flight operations have been suspended since March 18, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic . It is planned to resume flight operations on May 1, 2020.

Starlux Airlines offers free WiFi in all travel classes. In addition, all seats are equipped with a power supply and in-flight entertainment systems; the business class seats can be converted into a flat bed.

Route network

Macau , Da Nang and Penang are currently served from Taiwan Taoyuan Airport. Cebu is expected to be served from April 2020 . Long-haul destinations in Europe and the United States should also be served by 2022 at the latest .
