Staro Nagoričane ( Macedonian and Serbian Старо Нагоричане ) is a place in northeastern North Macedonia and a city whose residents are mostly from the Serb minority in North Macedonia .

According to the 2002 census, the place had 555 inhabitants, 80% of whom described themselves as Serbs and 20% as either North Macedonians or Roma .
geography
The place is located at the foot of the Staronagoričanska Krasta hill , which rises to the north. There are numerous intensively farmed plains in the area. The temporary rivers in the area drain south to the Kriva Reka . The road R 1207 , which runs south-east of the village to the south, is the main artery and leads to Mlado Nagoričane .

Others
The place is also seen as the center of the Serbian minority in North Macedonia and is the birthplace of the Serbian Chetnik Petko Ilić (Петко Илић), who mainly worked in North Macedonia.
