State parks in Maine

The US state of Maine has 40 state parks and 17 state historic sites (as of February 2010). The state parks in Maine are administered by the Maine Bureau of Parks & Lands , which is a division of the Department of Conversation for the State of Maine. The first state park, Aroostook State Park, was established in 1939.
