State parks in Utah

This is a list of the state parks in the state of Utah . The first official considerations regarding state parks in Utah were made as early as 1925, but a public campaign was not started until 1956. Under Governor George Dewey Clyde , the Utah State Park Commission was established in 1957 . The number of visitors has risen from 350,000 in 1957 to nearly 4.5 million in 2005, with Wasatch Mountain State Park having the most visitors with 442,069 (2006), whereas Camp Floyd, one of the oldest parks from 1957, only had 13 176 (2006). A budget of 31.7 million US dollars was available for 2008, with which, among other things, around 300 full-time and just as many seasonal workers could be employed.
