State Shield 2003/04

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The State Shield 2003/04 was the 33rd edition of the National List-A cricket - Championship in New Zealand . The competition was held between January 8th and February 6th, 2004 between the six New Zealand first-class teams. In the final, the Central Districts Stags prevailed against the Canterbury Wizards with 99 runs.

format

The six teams play in a group twice against the other teams. There are four points for a win, two for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. A bonus point is awarded if your own run rate exceeds that of your opponent by 1.25 times during a game. Furthermore, it is possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly. The second and third placed in the preliminary round play a semi-final, the winner of which determines the winner of the tournament against the first in the preliminary round in the final.
