The Staten Iceland Borough Hall is a public building in the south-west of Manhattan located New York District Staten Iceland .

The building is located at 10 Richmond Terrace and is opposite the Staten Island Ferry terminal on Stuyvesant Street and Borough Place.

history

The Borough Hall was designed by the architects Carrère & Hastings and built in 1903. It is built in the French Renaissance style and decorated inside with eleven WPA- themed wall paintings by Frederick Charles Stahr . The three-story building also has a mansard roof .

In 1983 the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places .

Todays use

Originally built as Borough Hall, the building still serves that purpose today. It houses the headquarters of the Borough President, offices of the building authority and other municipal offices.
