The Stattena IF is a Swedish football club in Helsingborg . Both women's and men's teams played first-class throughout the club's history.

history

Stattena IF was founded on March 1st, 1922. As early as 1925, they were promoted to the second division . There the team immediately became runner-up behind Halmstads BK . A year later the team won the season and competed in the promotion games against Skara IF . After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, a 2-1 win was achieved away from home and thus promotion to the Allsvenskan .

With five wins and one draw, Stattena IF could not assert itself in the first division and rose directly from bottom of the table. In the second division, however, the team was again the season winner and managed to get promoted again. However, the Swedish elite series again proved too strong for the club and the club had to relegate again.

The renewed rise failed as table eight. In the following years, the team established itself in the middle of the table, before 1935 only a relegation place was occupied and the club only played third class. Here, too, the team could only place in the back of the table. In 1939 only one point separated the club from Hälsans BK , the top-ranked relegated to Division 4 . Two years later, the team ended the season in last place in the table and had to relegate.

After Stattena IF played in the fourth division for years, in 1967 the championship and thus promotion to the third division succeeded. Here, however, the team finished last in the table and was relegated straight away. In 1971, the team managed to return to the third division. With one point ahead of relegated Lunds BK , the class could initially be held, the second season was again ended on a relegation zone. In 1977 the ascent was again made, which was followed by direct relegation. In 1981, the team said goodbye to the fourth division, to which the club returned in 1985. In the league reform in 1986, Stattena IF came into the fifth class Division 4 . In 1989 Stattena IF managed to return to the fourth division, with the direct relegation, the team said goodbye to higher-class football.

The women's team rose to the Allsvenskan for the first time in 2002 . In the first year the club was able to receive the class as third from bottom, a year later the team took last place and had to relegate. The team then played for several years in Division 1 Södra before returning to Damallsvenskan at the end of 2008. In the elite series, however, she missed relegation and had to relegate directly with fellow promoted Piteå IF .
