The canton of Brienne-le-Château is a French constituency in the Aube department in the Grand Est region . It comprises 53 municipalities from the arrondissements of Bar-sur-Aube and Troyes , and its bureau centralisateur is Brienne-le-Château . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Brienne-le-Château included the 25 municipalities of Bétignicourt , Blaincourt-sur-Aube , Blignicourt , Brienne-la-Vieille , Brienne-le-Château , Courcelles-sur-Voire , Dienville , Épagne , Hampigny , Lassicourt , Lesmont , Maizières-lès-Brienne , Mathaux , Molins-sur-Aube , Pel-et-Der , Perthes-lès-Brienne , Précy-Notre-Dame , Précy-Saint-Martin , Radonvilliers , Rances , Rosnay-l'Hôpital , Saint-Christophe-Dodinicourt , Saint-Léger-sous-Brienne , Vallentigny and Yèvres-le-Petit . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​245.49 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 1006.

From 1849 to 1880 the canton was called Brienne-Napoléon .
