Saint-Symphorien Church

Unienville is a French commune with 125 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality is part of the Bar-sur-Aube arrondissement and the Lacs de Champagne municipal association founded in 2014 .

Unienville is located on the Aube , about 35 kilometers east of Troyes in the Forêt d'Orient Regional Nature Park . In the 11.79 km² large community runs the Canal d'amenée , which feeds the 5 km² Lac Amance and the 20 km² Lac d'Auzon-Temple connected to it with water from the Aube. The area around Unienville is flat and characterized by arable land. Along the Aube there are large stands of alluvial forest, in the southwest the forest of Les Grands Essarts extends as part of the Forêt d'Orient .

Unienville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dienville in the west and north, Juvanzé in the east, Trannes and Jessains in the southeast and Amance in the south.

Attractions

  • Ferme du Breuil, a farm with barns that used to belong to the Clairvaux monastery , Monument historique
  • Parts of a Roman road on the eastern edge of the municipality, also designated as a monument historique
  • Saint-Symphorien church from the 12th century, modified and reconstructed several times from the 16th to the 19th centuries

Economy and Infrastructure

Ten farms are located in Unienville, mainly dealing with the cultivation of grain.

Unienville is on the D396 from Vitry-le-François to Bar-sur-Aube . 20 kilometers south of Unienville there is a connection to the Autoroute A5 from Paris to Langres .
