Stavros Arnaoutakis
Stavros Arnaoutakis (born May 25, 1956 in Archanes ) is a Greek politician ( PASOK ) and elected governor of the Greek region of Crete .
Life
From January 1981 to December 1991 the graduate economist worked as a manager in a company. From January 1, 1991 to May 25, 2004, Arnaoutakis was mayor of his home parish. In the same period he also held the position of CEO of the Heraklion AG development company .
From 2004 Arnaoutakis was a member of the Group of the Party of European Socialists in the European Parliament . In the Greek government appointed on October 6, 2009, he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Competition and Merchant Shipping . Supported by his party, he ran in the 2010 Greek regional elections for the office of Cretan governor, which he won with 50.30% of the vote in the first ballot on November 7th.
