The Stecherwand is an 800 meter high step in the Mountaineer Range in East Antarctica, Victoria Land , which extends over 5 km on the northeastern edge of the Parker Glacier . It was named after Robert Stecher (1959–1993), who was a mountain guide on a GANOVEX expedition (according to the Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica GANOVEX VIII (1999/2000), so probably No. VII).

The German state committee for the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and for the International Arctic Science Committee (ISAC) accepted the name proposed by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) on 17/18. June 1999.
