Steen Smidt-Jensen

Steen Smidt-Jensen ( Steen Løkkegaard Smidt-Jensen; born January 26, 1945 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish decathlete , hurdler , pole vaulter and high jumper .

In the decathlon he came in 1966 at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest on 14th place. At the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, he finished eighth. In 1969 he finished 15th at the European Championships in Athens , and in 1972 he was seventh at the Olympic Games in Munich with his personal best of 7945 points (7908 points in today's rating).

Six times he was Danish champion in the decathlon (1966, 1968–1971, 1973), four times over 110 m hurdles (1967, 1968, 1970, 1972), three times in the pole vault (1966–1968) and in the pentathlon (1966, 1967, 1972) ) and once in the high jump (1968). In 1971 he was the Danish indoor champion over 60 m hurdles.
