Stefan Arnold (* 1976 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

After the 1st legal state examination in 2001 / II ( Erlangen ), he was a research assistant at Klaus Vieweg ( FAU Erlangen ) in 2002 . From 2002 to 2003 he completed an LL.M. - Studies at Cambridge University (funded by a DAAD scholarship ). From 2003 to 2007 he was a research assistant at Bruno Rimmelspacher ( LMU Munich ). From 2005 to 2007 he completed his legal clerkship in Munich . After the 2nd state examination in law in 2006 / II (Munich) and his doctorate in 2007 from the FAU Erlangen (with Mathias Rohe ), he was academic advisor at the Institute for International Law - Comparative Law - of the LMU Munich (with Stephan Lorenz) from 2007 to 2013 . After completing his habilitation in 2013 at the Law Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (with Stephan Lorenz ), he was authorized to teach the subjects of civil law, German and international civil procedural law, international private law and comparative law as well as legal philosophy, he held the chair for civil law from 2014 to 2017, Comparative law and international private law at the Institute for Civil Law, Foreign and International Private Law of the Karl-Franzens-University Graz . Since 2017 he has held the chair for civil law, legal philosophy and international private law at the University of Münster .

His main research interests are contract law (in particular general law of obligations, sales law, fundamental questions), legal philosophy (in particular the theory of justice and private law theory), international private and procedural law (general teachings, international contract law, international family law) and comparative law (as a perspective of dogmatic and regulatory analyzes; English and Austrian Private law).
