Stefan Barmettler

Stefan Barmettler (* 1958 ) is a Swiss journalist and editor-in-chief of the Handelszeitung .

Life

Barmettler studied economic history and economics at the University of Zurich . He then worked as a business editor for the Luzerner Neusten Nachrichten and Weltwoche .

In 1995 he joined the newly founded Swiss news magazine Facts as head of the business department . In 2000 he went to New York as its USA correspondent, before returning as deputy editor-in-chief in September 2003 and one month later took over the editor-in-chief on an interim basis and later on.

At the end of 2005 he moved to the balance sheet as deputy editor-in-chief . In August 2013 Barmettler succeeded Beat Balzli as editor-in-chief of the Handelszeitung .
