Stefan Battaglia

Stefan Battaglia (born January 4, 1911 in Feldis ; † May 10, 1977 ibid) was a clarinetist , saxophonist and composer in the field of country music from the Swiss canton of Graubünden .

He taught himself to play the clarinet, and from 1920 he formed house music with his father and two siblings . He named Kasi Geisser as his great role model . The trained carpenter owned his own company in Domat / Ems from 1946–71 . From 1931 to 1945 his main formation, the Ländlerkapelle Stefan Battaglia, existed . Among his teammates were Karl Grossmann, Peter Tscharner, Fredy Storz and Sepp Peretti. He was also a conductor and instrumentalist with various music associations .

Around 130 of his own compositions were created in his musical work, including 10 Rhaeto-Romanic songs.
