Stefan Dessin (born September 3, 1976 in Herford ) is a former German handball player and today's coach .

Career

The youth national player Dessin moved in December 1992 from the B-youth of the TV Concordia Enger to TSV GWD Minden , with whose A-youth he became German champions in 1995. Then he received a two-year contract for the Bundesliga team. During this time he had such strong competition in his position in the right backcourt with Bodo Leckelt , Hendrik Ochel and later Stéphane Stoecklin that he was only used in one Bundesliga match. On April 14, 1996 he scored a goal in the 28:24 home win against VfL Bad Schwartau . Otherwise he played for the reserve team and rose with the team in 1996 in the Association League and 1997 in the Oberliga. After a season with second division TSG Bielefeld , he joined HSG Spenge / Lenzinghausen from the regional league in 1998 . In 2001 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club . After two one-year engagements with the second division club Eintracht Hildesheim and the HSG Augustdorf / Hövelhof , he returned to TuS Spenge in 2005 and played for the first team for eight years. During this time, two relegations (2008 in the regional league and 2011 in the upper league) had to be accepted. In 2013 Dessin became the player-coach of the second team in the national league. He ended his active career in 2015 and has been the team's only coach ever since.
