Bodo Leckelt (born September 28, 1970 in Dresden ) is a former German handball player and today's coach .
Leckelt began playing handball at the age of twelve. A year later he went to the children's and youth sports school in Berlin. From 1988 the 1.96 m tall right back player ran for the GDR upper division club SC Dynamo Berlin , with whom he became GDR champion in 1990 and German-German champion through a victory over TV Großwallstadt . For the youth national team of the GDR he played 28 international matches, for the junior national team of the GDR and the FRG a total of 15 more games. Via the southern Bundesliga club HSV Suhl, he came to the second division GWD Minden in 1992 , with whom he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 1995 . In 1996 he moved to the second division LTV Wuppertal , with whom he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in the 1996/97 season . After he had only narrowly escaped relegation with Wuppertal in the 1999/2000 season in sixteenth, he moved to the newly promoted VfL Hameln in the summer of 2000 . After Hameln's withdrawal from the Bundesliga in summer 2002, Leckelt went to UPV Barakaldo in Bilbao, Spain , where he only stayed for a year. In 2003 he returned to Germany to end his career in the regional league at HG Remscheid. In the 2009/10 season, Leckelt made a short comeback at the second division TV Korschenbroich , whose reserve team he coached from 2009 to 2015. In October 2014 he helped out in the first team again. He is currently also a trainer at the children's and youth sports school in Saxony. From 2015 to 2017 he was the player-coach of ATV Biesel. Then he took over the coaching position with the second team of the DJK Adler Königshof.
