Stefan Donner

Stefan Donner (* 1987 in Mistelbach , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian organist , pianist and music teacher.

Life

Stefan Donner studied organ with Peter Planyavsky and Martin Haselböck , piano with Antoinette Van Zabner and Stephan Möller, and conducting at the University of Music Vienna . In 2011 he also began a master's degree in organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen at the Amsterdam Conservatory , which he completed in 2013 with a Master of Music. This was followed by a one-year study visit to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (USA), where he studied organ and harpsichord with Edoardo Bellotti as part of a Fulbright scholarship . He received further suggestions. a. on master classes with Hans Davidsson , Joris Verdin and Olivier Latry .

Several prizes in international organ competitions followed (including 1st prize in the "Franz Schmidt Organ Competition 2010" and 3rd prize in the "Dublin International Organ Competition 2011").

In addition to radio and television recordings, the CD recordings on the organ of the Church of St. Salvator on Wienerfeld and on the Buckow organ in the musical instrument collection of the Vienna Technical Museum document his artistic work. Concert engagements as organist and pianist (including chamber music) have taken him to almost all European countries, to Turkey, Israel, the USA and Australia. He has also appeared as a soloist at festivals (Berliner Orgelpower 2012, Terra Sancta Organ Festival 2016, Kremnica Castle Organ Festival 2017 and Tallinn Organ Festival 2017). In October 2017 he was invited to give a master class on JS Bach's organ trio sonatas at the Kraków Władysław Żeleński Music School.
