Stefan Fischer (journalist)

Stefan Fischer (* 1966 in Cottbus ) is a former German journalist who worked as editor-in-chief of the Allgemeine Zeitung in Windhoek ( Namibia ) between 2004 and 2018 .

From 1991 to 2002 Fischer was an editor and photographer for the Cottbus advertising paper Märkischer Bote. In 2000 he completed an internship for several months at the Allgemeine Zeitung, the oldest daily newspaper in Namibia. Fischer emigrated there in 2002 and rose to become editor-in-chief within two years. In April 2018, he left AZ to settle in Austria , the country of his wife's birth. Since then he has been running a bed and breakfast in Pöchlarn .
