Stefan Gara

Stefan Gara (born March 17, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( NEOS ). Since 2015 he has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Life

education and profession

Stefan Gara attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Vienna IV, where he graduated in 1982 . He then completed a diploma course in technical physics at the Technical University of Vienna , and in 1991 he received his doctorate. techn. From 1990 to 1993 he studied at the Technical University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Economics and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , a Postgraduate Studies of Business Administration, Law, and Economics with a focus on international technology policy and innovation management. After working in industry, he founded his own company in the field of environmental management and technology assessment in 1994 .

politics

In the National Council election in 2008 , he ran for the Liberal Forum in tenth place on the list. In the European elections in 2014 he ran for NEOS. On November 24, 2015, in the 20th electoral term , he was sworn in as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council , where he is a member of the City Council Committee for Social Affairs, Health and Women and the City Council Committee for Urban Development, Transport, Climate Protection, Energy Planning and Citizen Participation.

In the state and municipal council elections in Vienna 2020 , he is running for third place on the list.
