Stefan Gatt
Stefan Gatt (born July 8, 1970 in Vienna ) is an Austrian mountaineer , sports scientist and photographer .
Life
In May 1996, a team under his leadership at Cho Oyu succeeded in rescuing an injured person lying down from 7,500 m. In 1999 he rode this mountain on a snowboard. He was the fourth Austrian to climb Mount Everest on May 22, 2001 without additional oxygen. He is the first and so far the only one who has descended from the summit on a snowboard without additional oxygen .
He made several first ascents in Patagonia .
